Bow To The Devil

 I was in deep sleep and I felt a tingling feeling in my stomach. I woke up in an instance, feeling nauseous and sprinted to the washroom. Fortunately, it was a false alarm, however, something felt queer. I looked at myself in the mirror and I felt strange fur on my arms. I looked closely and there were wings!! I rubbed my eyes thrice and they were still there. OMG!!! What the hell was happening! They were huge, ugly and gross. How should I go to my office or anywhere. I didn’t ask for them and why would anyone! Midst the chaos, the anger and aversion built up in me and I screamed, “GO AWAY, PLEASE!!!”  To my astonishment, they actually went away. I was in disbelief. What is happening!?

I got dressed, drank an extremely strong cup of coffee, thinking it was just a fool’s paradise and got ready to go for work. I heard a whisper, coming from my back. “I’m here to help you, Ada. Why are you scared?” I turned my head and there was nothing. At first i was seeing things and now i am hearing them! “ You must be thinking this is an illusion also but it isn’t. Look at your arms.” I saw my arms and i could see blood travelling in them. “We will be of great help to you.” I was hysteric and I thought maybe I was sick. I took an off and decided to pamper myself for the day.

It was noon and I was preparing lunch. I heard the doorbell, “DING-DONG” and I saw Rachel there, my co-worker, who had come to check on me. “Dude, you didn’t come to office today, why? You rarely take an off.”  I replied, “ Something very strange happened to me. I had— ” UHHHH! I felt a shooting pain in my lower back. I felt like a someone was poking a thousand needles in my back. Abruptly, I heard that coarse whisper again, “The truth, ha! Do you think it has every been benefiting? Come on! Live a little! Lie to Rachel.”Somehow, I was compelled to lie, “I-I-I have a flu. Bye!” I raced inside and checked my back in the mirror. It had weird hand like structures. I felt excruciating pain. “Who are you and what are you doing to me?!” That horrendous voice said, “You’ll find out soon...”

Perplexed, she sat in her room, deliberating what was happening to her. She just could not place the pieces together. Ada had a strange connection to animals. She loved to feed dogs, cats and bird. She went outside with some bird-feed and started calling them. A pigeon came and sat right beside her. She brought it inside and started petting it. All of a sudden, she felt some outer power enter her and broke its neck with just one twist and started eating its feathers. She found them delicious. Then, that night, she went out in the woods and ate a man alive. The next morning she didn’t remember anything.  Whatever or whoever that thing was, it was making her do obnoxious deeds. It had become her conscience. She was compelled to commit felonies here and there, murders! This made her despise herself. She couldn’t endure any more and then she decided to shoot herself. She had become this lifeless body who was under the control of something vastly evil. So, she bought a gun and without even second-guessing herself she shot herself....

“UM-UM Where am I? I thought I had killed myself. AAAAAAA! OMG! There is fire all around me! EWWWW! Why is my skin all burnt!?” “ Welcome, to hell! You are our newest fallen angel! Well, aren’t you lucky! You were asking me, right, who am I? Well, I am Sir Lucifer’s right hand man.  I was chosen to bring a new member to hell. So, here I am. My name is Mammon. You are chosen to be the next heir of the ungodly royal family. Masel Tov!” “NO NO NO !!! I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG! I WAS ALWAYS FAITHFUL AND ETHICAL ! THEN WHY!!!!!?” “It’s the lord’s wish. Fortunately, there’s no way out. ENJOY...”

For your information, Ada had a very faithful, polite, fair and scrupulous personality. She abhor lying, being unfaithful , stealing and acting like an outlaw. Her whole life she focused on following the traits of a philanthropist. This was her chilling end...
