Devil's Peak

In 2012 a love marriage was held in Pennsylvania. The bride’s name was Jennifer and the groom’s name was Randall. They knew each other since college. It was a very palatial event. After the wedding they went to Deadwood, South Dakota for their honeymoon. It was 50 miles north of Mount. Rushmore. Close to this mountain was another infamous peak called the Devil’s Peak. It was acclaimed for its spine-chilling episodes of brutal deaths.

Jennifer had an intrepid and enthralled personality. She cherished hiking and going on camping. Jennifer was audacious. She was against fallacy thinking. One day a party was held in the hotel they were staying. When she was standing near the drinks counter, she heard some riveting gossip. Upon eavesdropping, she heard some aged individuals, “Do you know!? Another person was found dead on the Devil’s Peak. He was barbarically murdered. His eyeballs had popped out and was difficult to verify. Even while narrating I am feeling perilous.” Jennifer was annoyed after listening to this. She thought that it was balderdash.

The next day she persuaded Randall to go on a trek to Devil’s Peak. She didn’t forewarn him about the macabre episodes of deaths. In reality, she wanted to go there to do an enquiry herself. The peak was six kilometers far from their hotel. On the way, in the car she saw a bird hovering and flying towards her. She was not afraid of birds but somehow, this bird was making her vexed. As they went further the bird started coming closer and hit itself right in the windshield of the car. The driver jerked and stopped the car. Everybody was flummoxed. The couple stepped out of the car and saw a dead bird. Jennifer’s eyes widened. She started to question her decision. Hopefully, she will not regret this……

When they were half a kilometer away the driver stopped. He looked terrified and told them, “Ma’am, I cannot go further. Please get off right now or I’ll die!” Jennifer nodded, held Randall’s hand tightly and got off. When they reached the starting point, a lunatic came sprinting towards Jennifer. He held her from her shoulders and started shaking her aggressively. He shouted, “Go back! Don’t go there! There, there, is an, army. Evil they are! Demons! Go back! I said!” Jennifer was terrorized. She pushed the man and stepped backwards. She was numb with fear. When the man again came for her Randall slapped him and told him to stay away.

They then started trekking. There was colossal amount of fog on the way. When they had almost reached the top, the fog started to turn to red. Nothing was visible. They then heard mystifying sounds. Jennifer was curious and she went towards the sounds. There she saw heaps of bones. It was malodorous. Then they searched the whole area. They were awestricken. They started climbing down. It was unbounded. There was no end. After wandering around, bewildered they heard many footsteps coming towards them. Then Jennifer reminisced the lunatic ‘There is an army. Evil they are!’ She immediately understood what kind of trouble she had invited. They heard a chanting, “Be afraid! Be afraid!” This chant somehow controlled them. That sound then killed them, made their ears bleed…..

Their bodies were found in a heinous manner. Their eyeballs were popped and limbs were cut. Now their souls are also a part of the demonic army….

In that town people say-

‘You can never return from the Devil’s Peak as the devil sees.’
