Jules, Michael, and the Pond
Once upon a time in 1901 there lived a French family in a two-storey house in United States. The family included Celesti Aubert, Raphael Aubert and their daughter Cosette Aubert. Celesti and Raphael used to fight a lot because of money problems. Cosette was ten years old and was very sad because of the fights. One night her father came home drunk and killed her mother. Then he killed himself and Cosette. After four decades a British family decided to move into the same house.
The family included Mr. Robert, Mrs. Jules and their son Michael. They were a middle-class family. Mr Robert and Mrs Jules had good relations. Their son was twelve years old. He was being home schooled as he was autistic. One day Mrs. Jules was keeping the unused furniture in the basement. There she saw a very beautiful and attractive mirror. She thought, this mirror will look stunning in her living room. Then she kept it in the living room beside her late mother’s photograph.
One night Michael came downstairs as he could not sleep. There he saw a silhouette near the staircase. He went closer and saw a little girl hiding. She asked him, “Will you play with me?” In a French accent. He responded, “Who are you?? How did you get in my house?” She reposted, “Your house….. Or, MY house?!” When he heard this he was white as snow. He ran speedily and locked himself in his room. The next morning Mrs. Jules found him shivering. She asked him what happened in a concerning manner. Michael told her everything. He was scared that the little girl will return. Jules told him that nothing happened and hugged him. Thinking about the incident Jules went to the pond which was near their house and sat there to relax herself. When she was in deep thought she saw a necklace floating in the water. She took it out of the water and saw a carving on the necklace which said ‘Brighten Up.’ She found it attractive and decided to keep it. She decided to wear it.
That night an eerie light woke her up. It was like someone was pointing a torch at her. But it was the necklace which was shining. The light which was emerging from the necklace started guiding her. She followed the light and it took her to the basement. In the basement there was a painting of three people. It looked like a family. She took that painting and placed it front of the mirror. Then she was shocked! The reflection of the family showed something very disturbing. It seemed like they had been murdered. The head of the woman was hanging from her head and the child’s chest had been cut brutally. The man’s head was in his hands. Then she heard three knocks. The same family was coming towards her. She tried to scream but something choked her. Her limbs were jammed. The necklace was red hot. Then Michael came and all of a sudden the family was gone. After seeing everything Jules tried to take off the necklace but she couldn’t.
The next day the necklace began to shine again. This time Jules was careful about every step she took. The light was guiding her towards the pond. When she reached there she saw three floating dead bodies. She immediately understood that this family never had a proper burial.
She then called a priest and the cops. The cops did an enquiry and the priest cleansed the whole house. They found out what happened. Then the family was buried and the British family lived peacefully. They never saw the little girl again. After the proper burial Jules was able to take off the necklace. Now she goes to their graves once a week and places flowers there. The French family now rests in peace.
