Tales of the Sea

Rebecca Johansson was the most famous polo player in London. She had a beautiful golden-brown horse named Prince and was very hard working. She had recently won a competition and was now going to Arizona. She had been very excited about that. She had to travel by sea on a cruise liner, because of Prince but had severe seasickness.  During travelling, she often used to come out of her luxurious cabin to vomit and breathe some fresh air.

One day, she was talking to the captain of the ship and having a special dinner which included white wine, salmon, mackerel, caviar and for dessert a Victorian sponge. They were laughing at a joke when the captain hindered and said, “Jokes apart, do you know that most supernatural and paranormal beings lie near water and we are in the water!” “Let me tell you once, captain! I’VE NEVER BELIEVED IN SUCH IMBECILE THINGS AND I WILL NEVER.”  Rebecca replied, banging her hands on the table. Captain warned, “It’s your wish but remember, the water may play tricks.” She sighed, “Yeah-yeah! WHATEVER!”

The next day, after lunch she felt uneasiness so, she went out on the deck to breathe some fresh air. She was just roaming around and she saw a young girl walking on the water. She tried to put her entire focus on that girl but she got blurrier and blurrier. She just went towards the railing of the ship and she felt a wet hand touching her shoulder. The moment she tried to turn around, her neck was held with the same lanky and wet hand with extremely long nails. Rebecca was hanging onto her life at the edge of the ship. She was gasping for air and she was freezing as if all the blood from her body was getting drained, drop by drop. After some time, she was found on the deck of the ship, cold as ice, blue as the sea. She was immediately taken to the healer’s room. She woke up after three days, frantically and she was terrified. She got better after some time and was ready for the competition.

When they reached Arizona, Rebecca got off the ship with Prince. She heard a bizarre sound when she was walking with him, like something rattling.  It was a black rattlesnake. Seeing it Prince ran at full speed and Rebecca had to run miles and miles after him. After this incident, she kept having disturbing dreams. She had a feeling of captivity.

The competition had started. She was doing very well. On the final day, she was nervous. As usual, she was leading. However, something happened to Prince. His eyes became grey and he started running aggressively. He threw her off him. She hung onto him while he dragged her across the ground. Rebecca was screaming at top of her voice. Then she was being choked. Suddenly, Prince stopped, jumped and broke her ribs. She almost died that day. She couldn’t remember a lot of things but she remembered one thing very clearly, the rattlesnake who was with Prince when he became aggressive. She just couldn’t stop thinking about it. She was in deep remorse but still, she was inquisitive about the sighting of that evil snake. This injury resulted at the end of her career. She had to stop competing. She went back to London.

One day, she was sitting in the park which was near her home. She sat on the swing and heard the rattlesnake again, the devil who ended her carrier. The moment she heard it she ran away. After some time Prince also died. She was devastated. She even had a dream in which the rattlesnake was teasing her. She had to keep eating sleeping medicines.  She kept hearing the rattling, again and again. She got so irritated that she even tried to kill herself but was saved. She was sent to an asylum after this. Her whole life was obliterated……

So, was the sea cruel to Rebecca? Her disbelief caused the end of her life. Some myths should be believed…..
